61ème Course de Côte du Mont-Dore / Chambon-sur-Lac 2021, Groupe D/E Single Seaters

The Dallara F303 of the fastest class D5S F3 driver Didier Brun.

For the single seaters, at Mont Dore,  as well as the usual F3 and Formula Renault cars there were a trio of Formula Masters cars and a good looking Formula 2 Martini.   There were 29 runners of which most can be seen below.  These are the photos I took near the top of the hill on Saturday when the weather conditions were not so good as later in the weekend.

Top single seater at Mont Dore was this Tatuus Formula Master of Fabien Ponchant

Second fastest single seater was this Martini Mk 62, (originally a nineties 2 litre French hillclimb car specially built by Martini from a F3 car base)  driven by Pierre Mayeur.  A very nice looking car in was the only D/E 4 1,600-2,000cc runner.

The fastest of the Dallara F3 cars was this Dallara F302 of Didier Brun, seen here through the morning mist.

Fastest of the female competitors at Mont Dore was Cindy Gudet in a Tatuus Formula Master.

Second F3 car was Daniel Allais in a Dallara F308.

Third of the Tatuus Formula Master cars was that of Fabrice Flandy.

Another photo from the misty morning session, with the third F3 car, that of Steeve Gerard.  It is a Dallara F312.

Thomas Clausi in a Dallara F302.

Fastest of the Formula Renault cars was Etienne Pernot in a Tatuus FR2013, seen here splashing through the rain.

10th of the single-seater was the Dallara F300 of Gaëtan Renouf.

Benoit Taviaux in a Dallara F303.

Second of the Formula Renault drivers waa Baptiste Tognet-Bruchet in a Tatuus FR2000.

Third of the Formula Renault drivers was Stanislas Coquet in a Tatuus FR2004.

The Caparo FR2000 of Anthony Gueudry.

The Dallara F308 of Christopher Giet.

Another Tatuus FR2000, that of Benjamin Brenot.

Another Formula Tatuus, that of Thierry Brenot.

Dorian Ferstler in a Tatuus FR2000.

Winner of his 1,300cc class was Michael France in his Dallara F304.

Delphine Cursoux in her Dallara 397.

Jean-Christophe Henri in a Tatuus FR2000.

Francis Renouf and his Martini Mk79 F3 car.

Gilbert Isabelle in a Dallara 399.

2020 Course de Côte du Mont Dore - F3

Two Formula Three cars come up the hill together - Gaetan Renouf's Dallara catching up Francis Renouf's Martini.
Old Formula Three cars play a big role in French hillclimbing and there were over a dozen of them at Mont Dore for the opening round of the 2020 French Mountain Championship (CFM).   Most were Dallaras of various vintage but a Martini and a Mygale added some variety.  Billy Ritchin was alone in the class for newer cars but there were plenty of cars of more than 5 years old competing in the other F3 class.  Always nice to see some fast single seaters!

Billy Ritchin was fastest in this very modern Dallara F317.  He was also seventh fastest overall on Saturday.
In the class for older F3 cars, Didier Brun was fastest in this Dallara F302.
Runner-up in class DE/5S for older F3 cars was Fabien Ponchant, also in a Dallara F302.
Third in class DE/5S was this Dallara-Mercedes F308 of Arnaud Cholley.
Steeve Gerard in a Dallara F312.
The Dallara-Volkswagen F311 of Samy Guth.
Gaetan Renouf's Dallara F300.
The Dallara F301 of Benoit Taviaux.
Clemont Lebot and his Dallara F302.

The Dallara F308 of Daniel Allais with Chambon sur Lac in the distance.
Patrick Cholley in his Dallara-Mercedes F306.
The Martini Mk79 of Francis Renouf.
