Super 1600 - Dreux Rallycross 2017

The Super 1600 category in French Rallycross is for 1600cc non-turbocharged front wheel drive cars and some 2000cc cars of up to 250hp with rules otherwise similar to the supercar category.   Samuel Peu was to end up winner of the final at Dreux and be the champion.

Battle into turn one with Samuel Peu leading.  He was to win the final as well.

Coupe Twingo - Rallycross Dreux 2017

For the competitors the Coupe Twingo is the entry level competition in French Rallycross.  For us spectators it is all about the first corner accidents.  The newly renamed Circuit Philippe-Chanoine at Dreux provided us with some spectacular action when Didier Morel rolled his Twingo on Saturday afternoon.  Luckily Didier ended up OK as these cars have strong roll-cages.   Some more action below:
