61ème Course de Côte du Mont-Dore / Chambon-sur-Lac, GTTS & GT, 2021

The lovely Renault RS01 of Philippe Schmitter in the damp on Saturday morning.

Always good to see the GT and GTTS cars at the Course de Côte du Mont Dore and this year was no exception.   Although they escaped the very worst of the conditions on Saturday morning and early Saturday afternoon, the conditions were still rainy and damp when I saw them.  Below are the cars in the order they were classified at the end of the fourth and final timed run on Sunday.   The fastest car, the Audi A8, went up the course in 5 minutes 13 seconds for the 5,075 metres of the course up the mountain to Col de la Croix Saint-Robert.  I spent my day at the top of the course, getting cold and wet but thoroughly enjoying the cars.

The GTTS category is for Silhouette GT cars (such as GT3), Super Cars and special touring cars and includes Mitjets.  The GT category is for less modified GT Sports cars that conform to various Cup regulations or are homologted for various circuit and rally championships 9such as GT4).   All of the participants can be seen below in the order they were classified.

The fastest of all the Production Cars at Mont Dore this year was this Audi R8 LMS Ultra driven by Ronald Garces.  Here he is cutting it very fine on the apex at one of Mont Dore's many tricky corners in the damp conditions on Saturday morning.

Second fastest of the Production Cars was this well turned out BMW M3 E92 driven by Yannick Poinsignon.

Anthony Dubois did his usual superb job in driving the Renault Alpine A110 to win the GT Group and class GT2.

3rd in the GTTS Group was Christian Schmitter in this Porsche 997 GT3 R.

Second in the GT Group was Francis Dosieres in a Ranault Alpine A110.

Philippe Schmitter in the Renault RS01 came fourth in the GTTS group.

Through the rain and gloom on Saturday morning comes the Peugeot 405 Silhouette of Yannick Latreille who won the GTTS 3 class.

Philippe Marion was the 3rd of the GT2 runners in this Porsche 997 GT2.

The other GTTS 3 runner was Jean-Marc Gandolfo in this BMW M3 E46 GTR

First of the Mitjets running in GTTS 1 was Ferdinand Loton.

Benoît Bourgoin in a Porsche 996 GT£ Cup with Lac Chambon in the distance.

Final runner in the GTTS category was the Farm tork Mitjet of Cédric Boureille, seen here splasing through the rain.
