Le Mans Classic 2016 - Plateau 3 - 1957 to 1961

Plateau 3 come into view for the first time.
This plateau represents the transition from Jaguar dominance to Ferrari dominance, with Aston Martin also winning in 1959.  The Listers also competed but tended not to last the full 24 hours.
The first lap with the leaders exiting the Esses with the 1959 Lister Costin of ChrisWard leading from a 1959 Tojeiro Jaguar.  Chris Ward was to end up winning this plateau.
Because it is built on a 1961 Ferrari chassis the Breadvan qualifies for this plateau even though it was not built until 1962. Martin Halusa and Co drove this car into 51st place.
Another Ferrari competing was this 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta of Vincent Gaye.  I was lucky to take this picture early on as he completed just one lap during the 3 races.

1958 Porsche 356A leads a 1960 Lotus Elite S2 and a 1958 Peerless GT Phase One.
