Rallye du Pays Avallonnais 2019

The Subaru Impreza of Christophe Plinguier and Laurent Calle.
I love the region of the Morvan in France so a chance to see the start of a rally from the centre of  Avallon was too much to miss.  It also turned into a chance to try out my relatively new Canon 135mm F2 lens.  No real action shots but some nice cars as they set out on their way to the first stage on Saturday afternoon March 2nd.  There were some VHC (Véhicule Historique de Compétition which were numbered 201 onwards) and some more modern rally cars.  This was the 40th running of this rally and I must come back next year and take some special stage shots.  in the meantime these were the 2019 cars:
The Peugeot 106 S16 Group N Rally car of Aurélien Fourdin and Tristan Gagnard heads out of Avallon.
The first of the modern cars - a Renault Clio R3 driven by Mathieu and Thomas Vanbutsel.

Preparation at the start for the Renault 5 GT Turbo of Stéphane Mazzoleni and Christophe parent.
The Mitsubishi Lancer of Jean-Yves Pompon and Laura Camerino.
The Citroen Saxo VTS of Kevin Mazzoleni and Manon Chatenet.
The Citroen Saxo VTS of Enrique and Mickael Da Silva.

The Matra Murena of Eric Bailly and Frédéric Vignac.
The Simca Rallye II of Rodrigue Lescail and Noémie Franceschini.
Tens of rally cars wait under the shade of the trees at Les Capucins in Avallon for the start.
BMW 325i of Daniel Plisson and Léonie lambert.
The Peugeot 106 S16 of Fabrice Vallet and Patrick Primak.
The Subaru Impreza of Pascal Bourgeois and Alexis Bezout.

Great to see this Porsche 914/6 of Laurent Huchet and Serge Cozzolino.

A long time since I saw a Triumph Dolomite.  This one was driven by Christian Perrot and Bernard Ferro.

The Renault 5 GT Turbo of Jacques Vincent and Patrick Ducaruge.

A Renault Clio S1600 driven by Sébastien Sureau and Cédric Chavenay.

Another Matra Murena!  This one driven by Philippe Blanchoz and Dina Cavaco-Blanchoz.
