Saint Goueno is a round of the French Mountain Hillclimb Championship, but what makes it really special are the seventy British and Irish drivers who bring their cars over to race on this beautiful Brittany course. The British and Irish race in a separate category called the Hillclimb Masters. There are classes for touring cars, GT cars, sports cars and single seaters. Everyone seems to have a great time! The top fifteen runners and some of the other interesting cars are featured below;

| Winner on scratch of the Masters Hillclimb for British and Irish drivers at Saint Goueno was this Radical PR6 of Martin Carter. He was 3.5 seconds clear of the rest of the field with a time good enough for fifteenth position in the French Championship event. |

| Second place went to Paul O'Connell with this Norma M20B. |

| Third place overall went to this Mallock Mk32 of Len Amy. |
 |
| Fourth and fastest single seater was James Wilkinson in his Formula Vauxhall Lotus Reynard. |

| Andy De Lisle was fifth in this Formula Renault Tatuus. |

| An amazing seventh was this four engined Mini Quattro of Chris Slade. |

| This replica Chaparral 2A made a wonderful noise and was fast enough to claim twelfth place. It was driven by Ian Wright. |

| Thirtieth was Stephen King in his Austin Mini. He was the last to break the two minute barrier. |

My favourite car of the day was the 1969 Formula Ford car of Paul Morcom. He was nice to talk to as well. It brought back memories of seeing a number of famous drivers race these in the late sixties. They were basically simplified Formula Three cars. Emerson Fittipaldi made his name in one as did Colin Vandervell. Jody Scheckter also won in one of these cars.
